Annual Report of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

Every company having 10 or more employees in an office is required to form an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to look into complaints under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and the rules thereunder.


The ICC has to prepare an annual report at the end of each calendar year and submit the same by August 14th  to:

  • a. the employer; and

  • b. the district officer.

While no format has been prescribed for the annual report, the ICC should ensure that the following information is provided in the annual report:


1. number of complaints of sexual harassment received in the year;

2. number of complaints disposed off during the year;

3. number of cases pending for more than ninety days;

4. number of workshops or awareness programme against sexual harassment carried out;

5. nature of action taken by the employer or District Officer.


  • Failure to prepare and submit the annual report by the due date (August 14)  shall result in a penalty of INR 50,000/- being levied on the company.
